DAFGP Cultural Safety Training

Cultural Safety Training Homepage

Introduction

The Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program (DAFGP) is offered by the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, First Nations Health Authority, and the BC Ministry of Health. The goal of the program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing the cost barrier to accessing doula services.
The DAFGP has over 250 doulas currently enrolled in the program. To ensure the health and safety of Indigenous birthers, it is imperative that doulas provide anti-racist and culturally-safe care, and advocate for their clients amid ongoing systemic racism in healthcare.
