Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program

The Doulas for Aboriginal Families grant program is offered by the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres,  First Nations Health Authority, and the BC Ministry of Health.

The goal of the program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing the cost barrier to accessing doula services.

The grant program provides Indigenous families living in BC up to $1,200.00 of coverage for doula services with each pregnancy. Learn more here.

Aboriginal Infant Development Program (AIDP)

The Aboriginal Infant Development Program (AIDP) program supports children up to age five and their families.

Support includes early identification of need and early intervention for children and families at risk, and connecting children and families with the resources they need for positive childhood development.

Aboriginal Supported Child Development (ASCD)

Aboriginal Supported Child Development (ASCD) supports children up to age 12, in some cases up to age 19.

The program promotes inclusive childcare and early intervention and support for children with special needs.

Child Care Planner

The BCAAFC Provincial Child Care Planner is available to support Early Learning and Child Care programs in each of the 25 Friendship Centres.

The Child Care Planner will be available to visit all centres to make connections, find resources and training opportunities, and advocate for newly emerging child care programs.
