A Plain‑Language Session for Friendship Centres 💸

About
Created for board members and senior leaders of BC Friendship Centres, this webinar explains financial statements in clear, accessible language—no acronyms or accounting background required. Using real‑life examples and a trauma‑informed approach, we’ll explore where your funding comes from (including grants and service contracts), the purpose of key financial reports, and how to read them with confidence.

The session focuses on governance and accountability, including what questions board members should be asking and why they matter. A brief, guided role‑play between the presenter and a designated participant will model how a director might respectfully and effectively ask questions about financial statements in a real‑world board setting.

Who should attend?
Friendship Centre Board Members, Senior Leadership, and Friendship Centre staff.
